Words can have everlasting effect, different meanings; used in different context, different ways, by different people.
We use words to make sentence, we use sentences to make speech. We use then speech in conversations.
Children use private speech often. To think out what to say, how to say it and when suitable to say it. Children learn to speak this way making use of their cognitive ability that’s gradually developing and improving.
Do the adults still? Since their cognitions are already ‘developed’, do they still use the private speech in conversations? Should they?
It is so important to think out what to say before saying it as words can have negative effect on top of positive ones. Negative ones, especially are everlasting, breaking relationships, widening gaps, misunderstandings, hurting people’s feelings.
Do we revert back to childhood behaviour and cognition, taking for granted that we are old enough to know what to say that we don’t even control what we say anymore? Or maybe our reversal cognitive ability causes us to act and think like a kid again?
One can never be too careful. We should always be careful of how we speak and behave.
